Alex Fiorio

44 years old, divorced, 2 daughters.
Since he was very young he loved Sport World and he gained prestigious victories: in 1977 he won the Italian SKI Down Hill title and when he was 18 years old he became ski teacher and trainer.
20 years in motor sport, like a racing driver, and now also like a Team manager.

As racing driver: in 1985 at his debut in car racing he won the “FIAT UNO Italian Championship” out of 80 participants and in 1987, when he was only 22 years old, he became World Champion Gr.N and vice World Champion Gr.A. with LANCIA Team. In 1988 and in 1989 he was third and second in the Absolute Rally World Championship.

In those year he was very close to the work of his father, Lancia Team Manager. Cesare, in order to grow Alex in this sector, made him part of the team, in the Prototype World Championship, giving him the opportunity to know the most important tracks’ characteristics all over the world and all the aspects regarding the logistics, drivers managing and race strategies.

From 1987 to 2003 he raced in the World Championship of Rally with Lancia and Ford: 3 times 1st place, 9 times second, 4 times third, 4 times fourth, 3 times fifth, 35 times in the best 10 and 241 points in World Championship, in the European with Ford winning 5 times, and in the Italian Championship with, Bmw, Mitsubishi and Subaru.

In 1996 he gained the second place in the Italian Rally Championship 2 lit. with Forghieri’s Oral Team, a very hard enterprise because of a rear wheel drive car.

In 2001 Alex is the winner of the Italian Rally Championship GR.N with Mitsubishi Italy and also of the “Italian Gravel Trophie”, with 10 win.

In 2002 Alex is the Mitsubishi Rally Art Official driver. He finished 4th in World Rally Championship Gr.N with a win in Finland.

In 2003 Alex is the official driver for Subaru Italia in Italian Rally Championship with the following results:
• Winner of Italian gravel Championship Gr.N
• Second in Italian Championship Gr.N
In 2004 2005 Alex racing with Mitsubishi Rally Project
• Winner (2004) and Second (2005) in Italian gravel Championship
In 2006 Alex raced with Fabrizia Pons in New Zeland in the Otago Rally 2°place.
In 2007 Alex raced with Fabrizia Pons in New Zeland in the Otago Rally 2°place.
In 2008 Alex raced in TRANSILVANIA RALLY SHOW 1°place

As a Team Manager:

In 1995 at his debut Team Manger in the FIAT promotional Championship for the driver Veroni That won under 21.
In 1999 Assistant to the Manager of Benetton Playlife Team in the World Motorbike Championship (drivers Melandri and Azuma).
In 2000 Alex becomes team manager of Benetton Playlife Racing Team. He won the FIM Motorbike World Championship constructors’ title with Honda (driver Giansanti and Azuma).
In 2001 he is Team manager for BMW of Cibiemme Team in the FIA EURO SPC with the drivers Morbidelli, Ruberti and Gabellini (3 pole positions, 4 second places and 2 third places).
In 2002 he is the Team Manager of Cibiemme Team with the following results:
• Winner of Mitsubishi Evo 7 Rally Trophy with the driver Bruschetta.
• Winner of Under 25 T.I.R. (Italian Rally Trophy) with the driver Ostani.
• One victory and three podiums in the World Series Telefonica Championship in 1600 and 2000 cc class. (drivers: Orecchioni and Rugolo).
5 times in the first 10 in FIA Euro TCC with Honda cars. Drivers: Sardelli and Tavano.
In 2003 always Team Manager of Cibiemme Team,
• World Series Championship Formula Junior cars (1600cc) Three win, and two second place, two pole.
• Third in Mitsubishi Evo 7 Rally Trophy driver Vita.
In 2004 always Team Manager of Cibiemme Team,
• Formula Renault (1600cc) Italian Championship, one win, two second place, and one third place.
• Second in Mitsubishi Evo 7 Rally Trophy driver Bruschetta.

Since 1991 he is car instructor of the “Centro Internazionale Guida Sicura” by Andrea de Adamich and since 1996 he is cordinator instructor of “Federal Rally ACI-CSAI School” in Vallelunga, Italy.

All the experiences obtained as a driver and Manager have developed the following skills:
1. Having competed in to teams (Lancia, Ford, Mitsubishi and Subaru) at world Championship level he knows how a good team has to e orgaized.
2. Great capability in the interpretation of racing rules.
3. Great attention to those details that can influence the final result.
4. Good capability in the management of men power.
5. Experience in the interpretation and solution of the various problems of racing drivers.
6. Very creative in the planning and adapting racing strategies.
